Monday Mischief – Breaking in a New Toy

by Alfie Entlebucher on February 13, 2012

We’ve had some real snow this week and its been amazing. On Saturday we went for winter walkies out in the country side and it was great. I plowed my nose through the snow and ate half a bucket full of the white stuff. Then I played with my new toy while I was waiting for the humans to catch up – they don’t have four leg drive so it takes them a bit longer to walk in the snow.

I’ve never played with a big football before so I put it through some rigorous testing, trying it for bounciness, show off factor and durability

dog and ball in snow

Good for showing off in the park...

Pretty good for growling at and shaking about...

Good enough to jump for...

But then someone punctured it...such a shame!

They just don’t make footballs the right shape for a dog to get to grips with. It’s not your fault buddy – It was bound to happen.

Ari says he wishes he could have been playing with you.

Wow! You sure can jump high Alfie! Looks like you had lots of fun in the snow but your ball looks a little deflated. LOL

Football…BOL! That gets me every time. Come on…soooooocccer! SOCCER! It’s hard enough for the Mama to keep all the sports straight, even without you guys calling different sports the same word! She’s not the brightest crayon in the box, it’s not fair to confuse her. That toy looks like an awful lot of fun though, no matter what you call it.

Hi Alfie!
This is my first time being on the Monday Mischief Blog Hop and I am so excited to be a part of it! I love your post, those photos look like you had a BLAST in the snow with your ball! I was having fun last weekend (Feb 5) playing football for Super Bowl weekend, so you will have to check out my high flying, ball catching antics in that post called ‘Super Dog Sunday’.
I have the Monday Mischief button on my blog. Come by and visit. It was so very nice to meet you and I hope we can be friends. Going to sniff you out on Facebook now. I have my own page too, so sniff me out as well!
Love, Pixel

Hi Alfie, I posted a comment earlier today about your cool post, but I just realized that Mommy and I did not actually post the blog hop code into our blog today when we linked up. Oh my Dog, I couldn’t believe we didn’t do that. Please forgive. My first time with your hop and we flub it up. We can blame Mommy being real sick right now, and not in her full capacity for being my technical support. It is in there now, 30 minutes before midnight, but we meant well.
Take care and hope to talk with you sometime!

Whoa Alfie! Look at you go! You need to come and teach Leroy how to do that! I tried kicking around a soccer ball with him the snow the other day and he just sat there!

I can see such joy in your face. Four leg drive is the best. At least that is what Chester and Gretel think. They are also short so their center of gravity is low. That helps them to always out hike us :)

Gorgeous photos! Bella would really like to get some snow here so she could have as much fun as you seem to be having. Maybe we could just hop the pond and come for a visit? ;)
