Having a Pawsome Time at The Entlebucher Mountain Dog Club Fun Day

Rooooo – this week I have to call mischief on the humans again. You see, I asked them politely if they could take some photos of me and my Entlebucher buddies on the Entlebucher Club fun day. I think they were taking my request a little too seriously because I’ve just spent hours sniffing through over 600 photos from the day. That is more photos than any one dog should have to endure in a lifetime! *waggy tail*

The Entlebucher Fun Day

The Entlebucher Club had organised a pawsome day out for all of us Entlebuchers in the UK. All my best friends were there, Alfie and his puppy Aristotle. my younger sister Bella and my siblings Aida and Annie – and of course my mum Queenie. Megan wasn’t there though which was a bit of a shame as we shared a lovely kiss the last time we met and I thought we had something special going.

But apparently she was in Switzerland meeting up with my dad for a couple of days, and noone seemed to want to explain to me why she was seeing him on her own. Everytime I asked, the humans just looked away and giggled. Humans can be really strange sometimes.

My buddy Alfie won first price for most handsome dog - and he was wearing his rosette the rest of the day!

Competitions

There were some really cool competitions on the day as well. One of my humans, the female one, can get pretty competitive so I decided I better win us some awards. I enjoyed the sausage race very much, but the human didn’t run fast enough for us to win. I concluded her legs must be too short for proper running.

I excelled at the first round of the recall race, but missed the start for the finals and got a little confused. Then I pulled my socks up and raced like a greyhound for the relay spoon race – but the human (the male one this time) fell over and ruined everything.

Only two more competitions to go and I was starting to really enjoy the buzz of competing. I wagged my tail like crazy and won first price for waggiest tail – what can I say, I’ve had lots of practice! *waggy tail*

Showing off my Winning Rosette - yes red means first price in the UK *waggy tail*

Then it turned out that the last competition of the day was an obstacle course, which looked really similar to the agility course in my classes. I mean, the one agility class that I’ve managed to get to soo far. I whizzed through the zig zac sticks like a snake, and raced through the tunnel like a pro before fetching a sausage off a plate and jumping the little jump. We won and it was pawsome!

Getting ready for take off

I'll do anything for a treat!

The human had to balance the ball on a spoon - and I wasn't allowed to play with the ball. This was a very difficult part of the obstacle course!

And I'm racing through the tunnel!

Eating sausages off a plate as fast as I can!

My little sister Bella in the tunnel

I have so many more photos to show you from the fun day, but I’ll save the rest for my Wednesday post.

What have you been up to this weekend? *waggy tail*

O my Alfie that looks like the most fantastic day ever! And I’m sooo proud of you, doing so well and even winning both the waggiest tail and the obstacle course!!!
And meeting up with so many of your family members and the other Entles must have been such great fun, I think you all should make your humans organize this more often than just once a year!
Although, that might mean ending up with 1200 photos…. They’re magnificent though, and be sure that I’ll be looking at more of them on wednesday ;-) )

We do have these meetings a couple of times a year, but because some of my friends live so far up north its sometimes a little too far for us to drive.

Sounds like a fun day. The obstacle course looks like fun, especially the sausage part. That sure is a pretty ribbon!

Rooooo how pawsome! It could have been an Entlebucher or perhaps an Appenzeller as they look really similar to us *waggy tail*

Looks like a really fun time! We had some Entlebucher friends when we lived in Germany but we never see them here in the US. You are cool dogs!
