Monday Mischief – Trying My Paw at Agility

by Alfie Entlebucher on September 3, 2012

This week I’m calling mischief on my second human. Not the one who usually helps me write this blog and take my photos, but the other one.

Yesterday was my first agility lesson and I went there with my buddy Archie and his human. The little dogs were very unorganised, and they didn’t stand in a neatly herded group so I had to take matters into my own paws and bark at them throughout the class. I think my humans were a little annoyed, but there are some dog matters they can never hope to understand..

One of my humans tagged along with me around the agility course and I quickly learned how to run through the tunnel, zig zac like a little snake and climb across the a frame. The a frame was my favourite as it reminded me of the heights of the mountains of my native Switzerland.

But did the other human photograph any of this?

Oh no.

He thought he should photograph the first five minutes of the class, when we were just potting around, learning to navigate the jump without actually jumping *sigh*

Not the cool action shots I had hoped to share with my blog buddies *waggy tail*

What have you been up to this weekend?

Well this can only mean one thing Alfie – you’ll have tell him that next time he’ll have to run the agility course with you – he probably could use the exercise anyway ;-) – and leave the photography part to your other human, who is so much more experienced when it comes to action shots!

Well done for herding the little doggies, I bet they all listened to you.
Maybe next time have a bark at the top of the mountain A frame, so the whole neighbourhood can hear *wag wag wag*
Looks like fun Alfie, running on the floor like that ;-) … I don’t think you should swap handlers next week, I think the Mr definitely needs the practise taking action shots :-D

Mom says agility would have been a good thing for me but I was already about 4 when she thought of it so we did not start. She tried it with my Kuvasz sister but that was a disaster, she only wanted to play and after 3 classes she was asked to leave – not for every dog I guess. Have fun, I bet you will do well!

Bella has been bragging about her BIG brother so though I’d check out your blog! You look like a big Bella, and slightly more on the handsome side. I’ve tried to teach her to wrestle like a proper mastiff but she always wants to do this tricky herding game and I can’t wrap my mastiff brain around it!
PS: One of my humans does this photography thing from time to time too, but at least he is smart enough to leave MY head in the picture and crop out my girly human, ha ha!

I’ve heard a lot about you too – it seems we’re sharing the important job of teaching Bella how to swim *waggy tail*

Eeeek why is there a picture of a silly cross eyed Australian Shepherd as my avatar, I’m so embarassed! Will have to change that asap… Right, off to bed now, to dream of shepherds! *trying different email to see if problem gets solved*.
Sorry for spamming, I got clumsy big paws.

Sage LOVES agility, but we haven’t taken any pictures either (even though she’s been at it for almost 2 years). Don’t worry, Alfie, you will get some pictures taken soon. I just know it!!
