Happy New Year all my pawsome frieds out there! Roooo what a tail wagging festive season it’s been. So good in fact that its taken me ages to get back to the keyboard and talk to you guys.
Just a couple of days before Santa Paws showed up, my humans showed me our new den. Its such a nice place with a long corridor the perfect size for running and shaking toys, a big window in the kitchen where I can bark at the world going by and my bed is right next to a cozy radiator. And did I mention the big park is only a ten minute walk way instead of half an hour? *waggy tail*
But guess what the best bit a bout the new house is? The humans can’t close the door to their bedroom! Roooooo – so now I can sneak into their room whenever I want and snuggle up between them. It is totally pawsome.
Its just one thing…
Big House, Big Responsibilities
The new house is on a new street and there’s new people all around it. There are new smells and new noises and its all quite a lot to take in, especially if you’re in charge of security like I am.
The first night I woke up from a noise sounding just like a monster trying to break in and I barked as loud as I could to scare him off. One of the humans woke up and tucked me back into bed, but it was too late. I was so scared I threw up on my pillow. The second night there was another monster lurking in the shadows and I barked and puked again. I can only assume that monsters don’t like dog vomit, because they haven’t been back since.
The humans say the monsters haven’t been back because they gave me something called ‘rescue remedy’ for pets so I could sleep through the night without worrying – but I think I’m feeling calmer now because I scared the monster away with my fearsome barking.
And besides - everyone knows there are no monsters under the bed anyway, right?
Have you ever moved dens with your humans? *waggy tail*

No I moved dens before I found my forever home but once I came here that was it. Alfie you will settle in and enjoy it now that you have got rid of the monsters with your fearsome barking.
Have fun and have a wonderful Wednesday.
Best wishes Molly
Rooo thanks for stopping by Molly! I’m mighty pleased with scaring off those monsters! *Waggy tail*
Awww, Alfie, so sorry to hear you’ve been having trouble with monsters. I’d just want to give you a big old cuddle if I was there.
I’m glad you, or your mom, or that rescue remedy stuff, chased them away and you’re able to sleep through the night again. I hope you get used to your new digs soon – it sounds like an awesome place.
Rooo thanks for the long distance cuddle! *Waggy tail*
I’ve heard about Rescue Remedy but don’t know much about it. I have used a product called Travel Calm in order to help Maya in the car because she gets so uncontrollably excited. It helped tremendously. I wonder how similar these two products are.
Evil monsters, I hope they go away soon, they will learn it’s your house in no time. You know, you could do what Dottie does, she sleeps under the bed to keep the monsters away!
That;s not a bad idea! *Waggy tail*
Woof! Woof! Happy New Year to you too. Definitely no more “monsters” Lots of Golden Woofs, Sugar
No more monsters – wohooo! *Waggy tail*
Wow you’re new house looks awesome Aflie! So sorry you threw up
But at least you scared away those mean intruders. I have heard a lot of good things about Rescue Remedy and we used to recommend it all the time.
Hi Alfie! Your new digs sound pawsome! I have moved dens 4 times in my 6 years and it does not bother me much. My sister has moved even more. We kind of like moving as there is so much new stuff to discover. Hope your monsters are under control and you don’t get spooked any more.
I don’t like the sound of monsters!!!! Good to know how to get rid of them, thanks for figuring that out for us, now go and enjoy your new sniffs!
Hey Alfie
I’ve never moved dens, you’re a brave pup – well apart from the puking!
I’m glad the monsters are gone though – phew!!
Great news about the bedroom access, awesome!!
And talking of awesome, I love that picture of you on the wall – how cool!!
