Its a Dog’s Life
I’m a dog who loves attention. Whether its in the park, on the street, or at home – I prefer it if all human eyes are on me at all times.
After all, why would they want to spend time doing anything non-dog related anyway? *waggy tail*
Sometimes when I play fetch, I can feel admiring glances following me as I rush of to fetch a ball and sprint back to drop it off at my humans’ feet. When I turn around to see who’s checking me out, there’s almost always a lonely human, or a couple without a doggie of their own smiling back at me. They all have that longing, almost sad smile that says ‘I want a dog too’.
I feel so sorry for them – it can’t be much fun going out for walkies without a dog to show you the way. They will never share the thrill of a good game of chase, or the pride of having a slobbery ball returned to them. And who will make all the deposits to the poo bank? A life without a dog must be a very sad and lonely human life indeed.
That is why I see it as my responsibility to share a bit of doggie happiness wherever I go. I hold my tail high and let my ears flap as I run like the wind – basking in all the attention while I’m doing my share to promote dog ownership.
What do you puppies out there do to share some puppy love? *waggy tail*

Good job sharing doggie happiness Alfie! I agree it must be a boring life to not experience the happiness of a dog!
Rooo – very boring indeed! *waggy tail*
You are an excellent example of doggy happiness
Too cute!
Thank you *waggy tail*
Bringing a smile to people’s faces – what better can a doggie strive for in life?!!
Good thinking Alfie!
Its a hard job, but someone’s gotta do it! *waggy tail*
this was great!!! I love the people off to the left in that photo just watching and admiring you!
You look soooooooo proud running with that ball!
My favorite way of making people happy is licking them and letting them pet my luxurious fur!
Barks and licks and love, Dakota
Rooo – yes they did not have a doggie of their own so they had to share some of my doggie happiness! *waggy tail* I bet the humans you meet love stroking that gorgeous coat of yours!
So sweet of you to spread the happiness this way.
