A Holiday in the Mountains
Rooooo I just took my human pack on a totally pawsome long weekend away. As you know I’m an Entlebucher Mountain Dog, and my ancestors herded cattle in the Swiss Mountains, but my humans have never taken me there. As Switzerland is pretty far away from San Francisco, I started looking for mountains closer by.
I heard that we live pretty close to Lake Tahoe National Forest and that there are mountains there so I put my paw down and decided that’s where we were going. The humans booked a cozy log cabin in the National Forest and when I asked them if it was dog friendly they just smiled and said ‘you’ll see – we think you’ll like it Alfie’.
The smell of the mountains
I smelled the mountains long before I could see them. Rooooo it was totally pawsome – so much space and more trees than I could count to sniff *Waggy tail*. There were rivers to swim in, and I could smell bears and other wildlife. The mountains further away had snow on top of them, but where we were going spring had arrived and I loved it!
Dog Friendly Lake Tahoe Cabins
I think we may have found the most dog friendly place in the entire Tahoe National forest – Stone Bear Cabins. I was allowed to run off leash everywhere as long as I got along with the friendly camp ground dog Moose, which of course I did because he was a totally pawsome dude!
The Smell of the Big Outdoors
I loved the smell of the outdoors so much that every morning I would cry by the door so they would let me out.
There was a small river running behind our cottage and I decided it was a perfect place for a morning bath while the humans had breakfast.
I had so much fun hiking and sniffing the camp grounds, that I even forgot to take my midmorning and afternoon naps and I refused to get back into the car when it was time to go back home.
I loved the mountains – I told the humans we should move there and buy some cattle for me to herd, that would be totally pawsome *Waggy tail*
