Digging a hole for Thesis
Roooo my humans and I have been working really hard on changing my blog over from my old Thesis template to the pawsome new Genesis framework.
Why did I move my blog I hear you ask? Was there something wrong with the old template? Roooo there wasn’t really anything ‘wrong’ with it, but my human has learned a lot about graphic design in the last year and she wanted to make the blog look a little bit more playful and in tune with my bouncy personality *Waggy tail*.
My other human, who knows a lot about computers, said the old template was rubbish and that he refused to help us make it look any better and load faster unless we changed over to a new framework. So here we are, on a brand spanking new Genesis Metro template. I offered to dig a big hole for the old Thesis, but apparently that wasn’t needed *Waggy tail*.
Pawsonally I couldn’t care less what the fonts look like, if the loading time is fast enough or how much white space there is around my photos, or if it can display on smart phones – all I wanted was to have a pawsome new logo and some cool action cartoons featuring me and my favourite sayings *Waggy tail*.
Developing My New Logo & Cartoons
I had to sit still for a real long time while my human drew my picture using old fashioned pen and paper. Then she fed the drawing into the computer box by scanning it, and tracing the outlines using her Wacom pen tablet. It took forever before all the colouring was done, but I think the end result was pretty pawsome. Then she had to do it all over again but for a picture of me jumping the most pawsome jump ever. I told her I wanted to look a bit like bat dog, but without the cape!
Once I had put my paw of approval on the pictures, it was time to make the text for the logo and some of my catch phrases. I told her that I really wanted the font to look big, bold and super pawsome – sort of like a super durable rubber dog toy *waggy tail*.
Making the background image
Finally I told her to take all the bits and pieces we had created and put together a playful background image. She made a sort of pattern where my pictures repeat endlessly – roooooo there were so many copies of me I got dizzy trying to count them all. Depending on how big your computer screen is you will be able to see some of the cartoons around the text section of my blog.
There are still quite a few little things that need to be done on my blog but so far so good. If you have a dog blog, what template are you using and is your human any good at making it look just the way you want it? *Waggy tail*
