Entlebucher Info and Fun

I’m an Entlebucher Mountain Dog, sometimes also called cattle dog or Sennenhund depending on what country you’re in. When I’m out and about with my human, we always get lots of questions about my breed from humans who are curious about my unusual colourings and smiley face. I thought it would make sense to gather all my blog posts and articles about us Entlebuchers in one place.

April 16, 2012

Where has all the mischief gone? As you know I’m a dog who loves my mischef – I chew my humans’ glasses, run with muddy paws around the house, steal the laundry and hide dirty underwear where its not supposed to be. But there’s been so little mischief this past week that my humans suspect [...]

Monday Mischief – Entlebucher Puppies!

April 2, 2012
My Mum Queenie, pregnant with her 'B' litter.

There’s been no mischief this weekend. I’ve been way too excited about the news from my mum Queenie. Some friends of mine who went to the Entle club meeting last weekend, sent me this photo of her. I knew she was pregnant, but when I saw the photo I thought she looked like she had eaten [...]

March 12, 2012

I’m just back from holiday in the Lake District with my humans. I met a really cool dog there and now he’s my hero. See the photo where he is herding the sheep? Doesn’t that just look the coolest ever? I thought so too, so I decided I wanted to have a go as well. [...]

Wordless Wednesday – Great Expectations!

January 18, 2012
Waiting for instructions

With Entebucher Mountain Doggies like me me there’s much more than meets the eye. Behind my cute face and tri coloured fur, hides an athlete with a clever brain which I won’t hesitate to use for my own ends given half a chance. So, when it comes to walkies I’m a dog with great expectations. A [...]

Alfie’s Woods – A Place I’d love to visit. Check out my Friend’s New Book

January 7, 2012
My friend's new book

My friend Alfie Dog (who also happens to be an Entlebucher Mountain Dog just like me!) has written a book with his human Rosemary J Kind. I read his blog every day, so of course I bought his book it straight away and snuggled up under the duvet to read it from start to finish. [...]

Why Santa’s Sleigh will be Pulled by Entlebucher Mountain Dogs this Year – a Christmas Tail

December 24, 2011
Merry-Xmas-Santa-Dog-Graffiti

I met Santa under the railway bridge the other day. He looked tired and haggard,  and he was pulling his beard. I could tell he was really worried about something so I snuggled up real close to give him a hug. ‘What’s the matter Santa?’ I asked and stretched my neck to get a better [...]

Don't worry, the real tickets are still safe!

I’m so excited – I’ve just received my tickets for Discover Dogs at Earl’s Court here in London. Both my humans and I are going there so I can meet other humans who are interested in getting an Entlebucher puppy of their own. Last year, when my humans were looking to buy a dog they [...]

You might remember I talked about my friend, the Entlebucher Shadow a little while back? To recap Shadow’s story – her humans took her to Switzerland to get mated with a very handsome dog, and then her microchip broke and she wasn’t allowed back into the UK. She ended up having to stay in Switzerland [...]

September 17, 2011
When I met Beano in the park we wrestled for hours! (I'm the one on top, he is the one with the big teeth!)

I just wanted to share some happy news this morning. Some of you might remember that I wrote about my brother Archie a while back as he was in need of a new home? Well guess what – one of my readers, Beano, a friendly St. Weiler puppy I met in the park a couple [...]
