A couple of months ago, my human confessed to me that she was really jealous of my blog and she wanted to write about dogs too. I had to be firm and put my paw down and tell her that Alfie’s Blog is my space, and that unless she grew a waggy tail anytime soon she should keep her long fingered paws off my blog.
Finding her own writing platform
I told her about a couple of other options she could try if she really wanted to try some writing of her own. After I explained it all to her, she realised that she didn’t want to start her own blog (I think she’s probably seen me writing into the late hours and understood how much work is involved!). Then she signed up for something called Hubpages where she could write an article about Dogs every now and then without having to worry about editorial calendars (I’m a very organised puppy!) or other regular tasks.
Pay checks and Backlinks
I didn’t hear her talk about it again until last week when she was all excited about getting paid for her writing. That caught my attention, I’ve learned that money is a good thing (its very tasty and you can buy yummy pigs ears for cash) so I pricked my ears and listened to her more carefully. It turns out she’d received her first pay check from Hubpages and she was looking very smug. Apparently she’s also used her articles to set up some back links to my blog too which is really cool as Google really likes back links and that means more dogs can sniff out my blog. She also said the hub pages community and is real nice and she’s learned lots about everything from SEO to long tail keywords in their learning centre.
So I thought, perhaps I should share some of her articles on my blog too (its only fair, isn’t it?) and tell some of my fellow bloggers about Hubpages in case your humans want to try it out too.
