A Birthday Monkey and His Monkey

I'm the monkey in this house - don't get any ideas!

This week has been absolutely pawsome. Starting off last weekend with the Entlebucher club’s tail wagging pawty for all of us puppies who celebrate our birthdays in September. Then, on my actual birthday on Thursday I got a super yummy chewy hoof & dinosaur bone from my little sister Bella.

Little Bella clearly has a knack for choosing birthday pressies – she had sniffed out the smelliest chews in the whole shop and they were delicious. I have no idea why the humans refused to kiss me afterwards *Waggy tail*

More Presents

My buddy Archie and his humans gave me one of the Tuffy Squids they sell in his shop and some yummy treats – I played with the squid all night, giving him the death shake until I knew I had broken him in properly and I had his dangling tentacles under control.

But what did my humans get me for my birthday I hear you ask.

Oh no, he's got me!

Monkey Business

You won’t believe this.

They got me a monkey.

A REAL monkey, I’m not joking.

When they opened the present for me I just starred at it in disbelief.

It was purple with banana print all over his coat and he seemed to size me up with his little beady eyes.

I thought I was supposed to be the only monkey in the house, and now they bring me this?

My mind was racing, but I didn’t break my eye contact with the monkey as I summoned up enough courage to ask the humans the big question.

‘Who’s gonna look after that monkey and train it?’

The humans just smiled knowingly. And then it dawned on me – they expected me to take care of the monkey’s upbringing now that I’m two years old and all grown up.

What were they thinking? Everyone knows monkeys are super mischievous and naughty and take a lot of time to house train.

My mind raced, when will I have time for my own mischief, walkies and games of fetch?

There was only one thing to do really.

I had to show him who’s in charge, and quick, before he got any ideas.

Roooo I got him back!

Take that!

And that my friends is how you house train a monkey! *waggy tail*

That is a BIG monkey Alfie!
Good idea to make it understand who’s the boss – you don’t want it to get any funny ideas about that, now would you!!

  2. says

I’m glad you enjoyed your present and had a pawsome birthday Alfie. Don’t worry about the humans not kissing you after. I gave your stinky present lots and lots and LOTS of puppy licks and kisses before you ate it. *wag wag wag*
You show that monkey who’s boss! But be careful Alfie … those monkeys can get stuck in trees.
